New for this season in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour is the Pole Position Trophy.
At each event, the driver who has posted the fastest lap in Q2 will be celebrated in the pit lane at the end of the session during the live broadcast.
Pictures and videos will be shot with the driver alongside a totem pole featuring the name of the circuit, the date and the lap time that will be hand-written on the spot.
WSC president Marcello Lotti explained: “Qualifying is a topic moment in the event, not only because it determines the grid positions, but also because it award points for the standings. Therefore, we thought is proper to give more exposure and gratification to the driver who sets the fastest lap.”
At the end of the season, the driver who has won the greatest number of pole positions will receive the Kumho FIA TCR Pole Position Trophy.
