BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse’s Mikel Azcona has been given a three-place grid penalty for impeding Audi Sport Team Comtoyou’s Rob Huff’s final flying lap at the end of qualifying in Macau.
Azcona had set the second fastest time and was on his in-lap, before he was caught by Huff who was on a final flyer, and then was held up by the Elantra. Huff would qualify in fifth position but will now be promoted to fourth following Azcona’s penalty.
This also means that Yann Ehrlacher and Néstor Girolami will advance to second and third on the grid.
Race 1 is due to start tomorrow at 12:50 local time (05:50 CET), with live streaming on tcr-series.tv and YouTube.
