Thed Bjórk (1st): “I was happy that finally after a while we got a red flag and a restart in that first race. At the beginning I found it so hard to fight with the guys because even if they are slower you have to overtake them in a good way, so Urrutia gave me that position. Pedro Cardoso also let me go as he didn´t want to fight, he only wanted to finish as high as possible so he is a clever guy because if he were to start a fight with me the others would catch us, so I am very happy.”
Pedro Cardoso (2nd and 1st in TCR South America): “I am extremely happy. It could not have been better. I was quite lucky at the beginning to open a gap and Thed was quite quick to catch me. After that I only wanted to win the TCR South America race and maybe score a podium in the World Tour. So I chose to not fight him. He would have passed me anyway, so I think it was a clever move to do that. I would just like to thank the team.”
Santiago Urrutia (3rd): “It was quite a weird race from the start. When you have a rolling start it is always difficult... I let Thed pass and Filippi was very slow but he defended well on the back straight. Girolami passed me and then Guerrieri but then I had a chance to overtake both of them on the straight. I am very happy to finish third.”
