Ma Qing Hua (winner): “I am so happy! The team have been pushing really hard for the second part of the season and this race was crazy. Néstor was managing a good pace and he defended quite well, but when it was the last lap I thought it was my last chance and I couldn’t wait anymore. I had to really push hard and also he made a little mistake in T3. We then had a little fight, but I think it was quite fair. It was a good race and I am really happy to win on my home soil. I don’t have the words to explain this feeling. Thanks to all the audience here and everyone from Lynk & Co Cyan Racing.”
Néstor Girolami (2nd): “At the start I had a good jump and I was leading all the race but on the straight we had nothing to fight the Lynk & Co. The difference in speed is huge; it is not like 2km, we are lacking 10km. Because of this it was very difficult to defend. Even with clean air I could not make a gap and in the last lap, he (Ma) took the inside of P4 and touched me, then he came back in P5. I think it was just a race contact nothing to say against. Now, we must explore something, because at the moment our package is very good on cornering, but it is strange to see such a big difference on acceleration”
Yann Ehrlacher (3rd): “Firstly I need to congratulate with Ma, for winning a race at home, with a lot of pressure because we had a many guests. It is a very important weekend for all of us, and this is a good way for us to say thanks to team for all the work they have done for us throughout the year. I started from P8 and I am very happy about my start because we had changed a lot of things on the car. The safety car made a difference, because I was in front of it. I had a very slow race and at the end Esteban (Guerrieri) slowed down and I moved up to third. I feel sorry for him, but we have had a very unlucky season. I have to take the points when I can…”
David Zhu Dai Wei (1st in TCR China): “It’s really competitive here, and right from the first lap everyone was pushing a lot. Luckily I was able to survive the first lap, but one of the TCR China cars overtook me so I was down to P2. Then through some work from the Hyundai team I dropped to P3, but I was able to get back ahead of Andy Yan after the safety car and then I caught Martin Cao. In front of him there were four World Tour cars but he wasn’t fighting them, so I took the opportunity to overtake him and I caught up with them, so it’s good to see we have the same pace as them...”
