Marco Butti starts this afternoon’s second race from pole-position in his GOAT Racing Honda Civic, but the Italian will be relying on a revised set-up after a terrible Race 1, in which he dropped from eighth to 13th.
The Vallelunga podium finisher explained it was a set-up issue which was the cause in his slow pace which saw him drop behind the charging Lynk & Co cars of Yann Ehrlacher and Santiago Urrutia, and also the guest Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai cars in the race.
“The tyre pressure was wrong,” he said. “So, we have to work on the car for Race 2 and try to improve the set up. I also have to improve my skills driving on this track with such a low grip. We’re starting from pole position and let’s see what happens.”
Butti starts from pole position for Race 2, with his teammate Dušan Borković alongside.
“We have to defend our positions, but it will be a tricky one for us, and there’s no plan in the team, it’s both for the win!”
